New Year. Same Favor. Greater Calling.

As the clock crawls closer to midnight and the dawn of a new year  arises, I challenge us all to reflect on what the Lord has brought us through. Think about the burdens you carried in the beginning of the year and where you are today.  Look at how far the Lord has brought you. You made it.  The gift of waking up into a new year, a new beginning, is so precious. Not everyone will receive it. That means your work is not done. That means that God has a greater calling on your life. The Lord has shined his ray of favor upon your heart! Rejoice!

I plead to you my brothers and sisters, do not carry on any baggage of hatred, of anger, of bitterness. Do not carry the burden of an unforgiving spirit. For it will be like cancer that spreads throughout your body.  Release it in the name of Jesus. For God is calling you for something greater.

Prayer for the week:

Father God, I declare and decree that this year will be victorious in the mighty and miraculous name of Jesus. Lord I am ready to walk into my greatness. I am ready to achieve every goal that I have set, and to defeat every negative thought and defiant spirit with your holy word. Lord, allow me to cling to your love like a bee to a flower in search of nectar. I'm completely yours, and I am ready to walk into my destiny. Amen

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, said the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

Unwrapping a Testimony

Yesterday was Christmas,  and while I was grateful to be around my love ones, it could not overshadow the emptiness I felt that day. The emptiness that I'm sure a lot of us feel during the holidays; the spirit of loneliness. As I scrolled down my timeline on my Facebook page, I knew that I wasn't alone. I couldn't seem to shake my self-loathing. That's when the Lord led me to his word in Psalms 18:8--It is better to trust in Lord than to put your confidence in man. I was putting my self-worth in man and that was my first mistake. My friends, our identity is in God Almighty, not who we're with or not with, not what type of car we drive, or what type of job we have. We are great, because our greatness comes from him. The enemy would love for us to be depressed on the day that we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior. He wants to kill our spirits, steal our joy, and destroy of relationship with God. Don't let him!!   ...

Hidden Figures, Open Grace

Just finished watching one of the most remarkable stories told in 2016; Hidden Figures. From start to finish each one of these ladies had a keen sense of purpose in who they were and their capabilities in what they could bring to NASA. In the movie, engineer Mary Jackson was discouraged by her husband in pursuing her engineering aspirations. He tried  to write out her story but little did he know that God had already written her destiny. God had written out each one of these ladies stories; taking their talents that he instilled in them, and giving them the tools to make history.  Katherine Johnson-- a brilliant mind who calculated spaceship launches for NASA. Although she had lost her husband and was left with three little girls to raise, the Lord still had favor on her life. She remarried and has been with her husband for over 50 years. Can you imagine after fighting racism, sexism, and analytical geometry, she was still able to...

Gotta have faith, faith, faith

Blessings readers. I know I’ve been M.I.A. for a minute but I’m back!! Now let’s see, has anything interesting happened to me within the last few months? Well, I got a job, lost the job, had a car accident, and lost my pet cat (she decided to run into the wild after being let out of her pet carrier to stretch her legs…big mistake). Oh, I almost forgot, I got a flat tire today on my rental car! Yaaaay! Ever heard of the catch phrase “ The devil is busy! ”? When incidents like these occur in our lives it’s easy to blame the mishaps on the devil, but that’s not always the case. When I lost my job, God revealed my issues with anger. I then asked the Lord to remove the spirit of anger from my heart. Soon after, it appeared that problems came like clockwork. And from the outside looking in it could seem that the enemy was trying to dictate my life. But it wasn’t the work of the enemy. It was God’s way of building my character and faith. Think about the story of Joseph in Genesis a...
